Abby Young is the Director of Strategic Planning for ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability. In this capacity, Ms. Young guides the short- and long-term visioning and development planning for ICLEI’s U.S. organization. Prior to her position as Director of Strategic Planning, Ms. Young served for over nine years as Director of ICLEI’s US Cities for Climate Protection(TM) Campaign. As the US CCP Director, Ms. Young oversaw the various programs and projects of the Campaign, including development of training programs and materials, workshops and research to assist the local governments in achieving their climate protection goals. Abby has a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a Master’s degree in International Energy and Environmental Policy from the Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies.
